Trigger pointing

Trigger points are localised tender spots found in taut bands of muscle. They form when the mechanisms that contract muscle become overworked and malfunction. Prolonged abnormal postural tension such as slouching at a computer or prolonged driving can lead to trigger point formation. They can cause the misalignment of muscle and fascia. They can be located by palpation from your therapist and released through a gradual increase of pressure to the trigger point.
